The idea

Wellness has a credibility problem. Most of what's written online about fasting, tea, adaptogens, and metabolic health is either thinly-researched blog spam or sales copy dressed up as advice. Important questions — does my green tea break my fast, can I take ashwagandha with my SSRI, how long will my afternoon coffee actually affect my sleep — deserve better answers than they usually get.

Steap Lab exists to build tools and write content that treat those questions seriously. Every tool ships with the mechanism explained. Every claim ties back to peer-reviewed research where possible. Every recommendation gets told straight, even when the honest answer isn't what you were hoping to hear.

Who's behind it

Steap Lab is a project of STEAP, the wellness company behind Golden Glow. STEAP's broader mission is to make preventive health accessible through products grounded in botanical research — Steap Lab is the editorial and tools side of that same mission.

Editorial standards

  • When we cite research, we link to the primary source where available.
  • We update articles when new evidence emerges or we find we've got something wrong.
  • If we've made an error, we correct it publicly with a dated note.
  • AI assists with drafting and research, but a human reviews every piece before it goes live.
  • We don't publish anonymously — articles carry the name of the person responsible.

What we publish

  • Tools like the Verdict Engine that answer specific, common wellness questions interactively.
  • The Ledger, our biweekly newsletter on the actual research behind fasting, tea, adaptogens, and metabolic health.
  • Guides that go deep on mechanisms — autophagy, EGCG, CYP1A2 caffeine metabolism, mTOR, polyphenols, and the rest of the vocabulary people throw around without explaining.

What we don't do

  • We don't write for SEO at the expense of accuracy.
  • We don't publish AI-generated content without human review.
  • We don't take money to recommend third-party products. The only products we recommend are STEAP's own, and we disclose that relationship clearly.
  • We don't manufacture urgency, fear, or hype.

How we make money

The Site is supported by:

  • Google AdSense advertising (we don't control which specific ads appear)
  • Sales of STEAP products (currently Golden Glow, with more blends planned)

Nothing else. No affiliate stacks, no sponsored posts, no undisclosed relationships. If a link leads to commerce, it leads to STEAP.
